The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries (LVV) in Suriname has confirmed an outbreak of avian influenza in Paramaribo. The announcement follows the death of more than five thousand chickens at a local poultry farm.
During a press conference held on Saturday, ministry officials stated that they have implemented stringent measures to contain the virus and prevent further spread. The government is currently monitoring the situation closely to manage the impact of the outbreak on the local poultry sector.
