UASD suspende docencia y labores administrativas por lluvias e inundaciones

The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) announced on Tuesday, 27 October, that it would suspend teaching and administrative activities at its central campus and at several university centers across the country. The decision was taken in response to heavy rainfall and the risk of flooding in various regions. According to Circular No. 046‑2026, the suspension covers the campuses in Gran Santo Domingo, Barahona, Azua, Neyba, San José de Ocoa, San Cristóbal, and Baní. The university cited guidance from the Dirección de Gestión de Riesgos y Desastres and the protocols established by the Centro de Operaciones de Emergencias (COE) as the basis for the action. Administrative work will be halted from 1:00 p.m. on the same day. UASD urged students, faculty, and staff to take necessary precautions and to follow the recommendations of emergency agencies.
