UASD suspende docencia este jueves en su sede central

The Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) announced that teaching activities will be suspended on Thursday, 29 October 2026, at its central campus. The decision, communicated through Circular 044‑2026 issued on 26 October and signed by Rector Jorge Asjana David, is intended to facilitate the commemorative events marking the university’s 488th anniversary. The suspension applies only to the central campus in Santo Domingo. Administrative staff will continue to perform their duties as usual, and teaching and administrative activities will proceed normally at other university sites, including satellite centers and sub‑centers. On Thursday, the university will hold two ceremonial sessions—one at 10:00 am and another at 4:00 pm—featuring investitures and other protocol events as part of the celebration of the institution’s founding on 28 October 1538, which makes it the oldest university in the Americas. The UASD thanked faculty, students, and staff for their understanding and cooperation regarding the temporary suspension of classes.
