Two Men Robbed During Facebook Marketplace Meeting in Tunapuna
Two men, both aged 45 and from Couva and Marabella, were robbed on Wednesday afternoon while attempting to sell an air rifle to a buyer they met on Facebook.
According to police reports, around 5:30 p.m. the victims travelled to Upper Fairly, Bamboo Trace, Tunapuna, to complete the transaction. Upon arrival, they were invited behind a green two-storey house, where the sale was supposed to take place.
While at the location, three armed men approached the victims and announced a robbery. The assailants stole the air rifle, valued at approximately TT$30,000, along with a gold chain worth TT$7,000, a Samsung S10 cellphone, a Redmi cellphone, and TT$500 in cash.
Both victims managed to escape the scene. However, one of the men sustained injuries to both knees during the ordeal.
Investigations are ongoing and are being led by Police Constable Brown.
