In two separate operations conducted in Sangre Grande and Arouca, two individuals were arrested, according to a media release on July 3, 2026. The first operation, known as Operation R.E.S.O.L.U.T.E Shield, led to the arrest of a 48-year-old man for Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking. This intelligence-led operation was carried out by officers of the Eastern Division Task Force (EDTF) in the Sangre Grande district. The arrest occurred on July 2, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at a location along the Cunapo Southern Main Road. During the operation, officers seized approximately 18 grams of cocaine.
The second operation, targeted at the Trinidad and Tobago Ride Share Robbery Ring, was led by the officers of the Port of Spain Gang Intelligence Unit (GIU). Based on received information, surveillance was conducted at Orange Grove Old Road, Arouca between the hours of 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on July 1. The operation led to the arrest of a 22-year-old suspect who was subsequently lodged at the Belmont Police Station pending further enquiries.
