In a targeted operation, two individuals were arrested in Princes Town, part of an effort to reduce violent crime, drug trafficking, and illegal immigration in the area. The operation, named Operation Trident, took place between the hours of 11:00 pm on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, and 2:00 am on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025. One of the arrested is a 41-year-old man, charged for possession of cocaine for trafficking purposes, with officers seizing 20.7 grams of cocaine during the arrest. The second individual, a 19-year-old Venezuelan national, was apprehended as a prohibited immigrant, suspected to have escaped from the Immigration Detention Centre earlier in the year. The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service pledges to maintain its operational activity to disrupt criminal activity and ensure citizen safety.
