In a significant law enforcement operation, two individuals were arrested in separate incidents in the Port of Spain and Southern Divisions. Early on July 6, a 24-year-old man was apprehended after officers spotted him holding a firearm near a basketball court. Upon noticing the police, he discarded the weapon, which was later retrieved and found to contain 19 rounds of ammunition. Meanwhile, a 28-year-old woman was arrested during an anti-crime exercise in the Southern Division for possessing cannabis plants beyond the legal limit. In a related search in Ste. Madeline, officers discovered 11 rounds of ammunition hidden in a bag. The investigations continue as authorities work to address these criminal activities.
