A man was robbed twice in quick succession in Port of Spain on Saturday while trying to sell his cellphone through Facebook Marketplace. The 20-year-old victim from Wellington Road, Debe, arranged to meet a prospective buyer for his Samsung S24, valued at $3,500, at around noon. Upon his arrival at Park Street near the Republic Bank carpark, he was approached by a light-complexioned man, approximately 6’1″ tall, who was wearing a white jersey and black three-quarter jeans. The suspect snatched the cellphone and fled east along Park Street. The victim pursued him but encountered three additional men of African descent near Bath Street, who then robbed him of $900 in cash, his black wristwatch, and a pair of ear pods. The total value of the stolen items has not been fully determined, and investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
