This report covers ttuta awaits government’s salary with key details and context.

The Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA) is awaiting the government’s finalization of the 2020 to 2023 salary settlement for teachers. TTUTA has communicated to its members that it signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Personnel Department on April 18 this year. However, the agreement needs to be ratified by the Cabinet before it can be implemented. Following approval, the Ministries of Finance and Education will be directed to execute the settlement. Chief Personnel Officer Commander Dr Daryl Dindial has assured TTUTA that a Cabinet Note, which includes the MoA and a new Interim Allowance for Third Schedule Officers, has been submitted to Finance Minister Davindranath Tancoo. This note covers the previous periods of 2014–2017 and 2017–2020. TTUTA has stated that it has done everything within its power to address the matter and now expects that the provisions of the MoA will be reflected in the 2025–2026 National Budget. The association anticipates that the Cabinet’s decision and the Budget presentation will determine the payout timeline. TTUTA has also indicated its readiness to take ‘all necessary action’ should circumstances necessitate it.
