TTPS Apologizes for Modi Visit Traffic Disruptions

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has apologized for the significant traffic disruptions experienced during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit. Deputy Commissioner of Police Junior Benjamin, who oversaw security operations, acknowledged the extensive delays caused by road closures in Port of Spain. While the TTPS anticipated major traffic congestion, they chose to limit the advance notice of road closures to protect the Prime Minister’s security. They expressed gratitude for the public’s understanding and patience during the significant inconvenience. The decision to withhold detailed information was made, according to Benjamin, to maintain operational security.
