TTMS Monitors Tropical Wave with Low Cyclone Potential in Central Atlantic

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) is closely monitoring an active tropical wave situated in the Central Tropical Atlantic. This system is currently positioned about 1,900 kilometers east of the Southern Windward Islands. Despite its presence, the wave remains disorganized, displaying scattered showers and thunderstorms.

At this stage, the tropical wave has a low probability of evolving into a tropical cyclone, with a mere 10% chance of development over the next two to seven days. It is progressing westward at a speed of approximately 28 kilometers per hour, and it is anticipated to influence weather conditions in the Southern Windward Islands starting Thursday.

As of now, there are no watches or warnings issued for Trinidad and Tobago. The TTMS emphasizes the importance of staying informed by following their official updates, as the situation can change with little notice.

The next scheduled update from the TTMS will be released at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, unless significant developments occur earlier. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and rely on verified information from TTMS to stay prepared for any possible changes in weather conditions.
