**TSMC Increases Q2 Employee Bonuses by More Than 50% Year‑on‑Year**

*Taipei, Taiwan – August 29, 2026* – Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), the world’s largest contract chipmaker, announced that employee bonuses for the second quarter of 2026 rose by more than 50 percent compared with the same period a year earlier.

According to the company’s financial data, bonuses paid to staff for the April‑June period totalled NT$36 billion (approximately US$1.14 billion). The increase follows a record quarterly net profit of NT$706.56 billion, up 77.4 percent from the second quarter of 2025 and 23.4 percent higher than the first quarter of 2026. Earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter were NT$27.25, compared with NT$15.36 a year earlier and NT$22.08 in the preceding quarter.

TSMC attributed the strong performance to robust global demand for high‑performance computing devices, Internet‑of‑Things applications and consumer‑electronics products.

For the first half of 2026, total employee bonuses amounted to NT$70.35 billion, a 54.3 percent increase over the same period in 2025. During the same six‑month span, the company reported net profit of NT$1.28 trillion, up 68.3 percent year‑on‑year, and EPS of NT$49.32, up from NT$29.30 a year earlier.

The company’s policy is to distribute half of employee bonuses on a quarterly basis, with the remaining half paid after the shareholders’ meeting the following year. While the rise in bonuses lagged the faster growth in net profit for the six‑month period, the increase still exceeds the roughly 30 percent growth recorded in 2025.
