Former President Donald Trump, aged 79, recently underwent a medical evaluation due to noticeable swelling in his lower legs, first observed in photos taken at the FIFA Club World Cup. The White House medical team confirmed the swelling and subsequently ordered a series of tests. Trump was diagnosed with Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI), a condition that is common and generally benign among older adults. According to the medical report, he is not experiencing any pain and remains in excellent health.
The tests performed included a Doppler ultrasound of the legs, an echocardiogram, and assessments of kidney and liver function. The results indicated no signs of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), heart failure, kidney failure, or arterial disease. Moreover, his heart function is reported to be normal.
Trump is taking aspirin for his condition, which has resulted in some bruising on his hands due to soft tissue irritation from frequent handshakes. His CVI is being managed through leg elevation, the use of compression stockings, and regular monitoring. Importantly, no hospitalization was required, and he is continuing his presidential duties without any interruptions.
