Donald Trump, the former United States President, has made a sweeping declaration invalidating approximately 92 percent of all documents signed during Joe Biden’s presidency. He alleges that these were executed using an autopen without proper authorization. Trump has stated that any document signed by Biden with the Autopen is terminated, and of no further force or effect. The autopen is a mechanical device that reproduces a person’s signature and has been used by U.S. presidents since the 1950s. However, its usage requires explicit presidential authorization to be legally valid, which Trump claims Biden did not grant. If these allegations are pursued formally, it could potentially affect hundreds or even thousands of documents, including executive orders, official letters, administrative directives, and federal appointments.
