Trump announces “infinite life” agreement on US security in Greenland

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the United States reached an agreement with Denmark and Greenland intended to provide Washington with permanent control over security and other strategic interests in the territory. Trump characterized the arrangement as an Infinite Life Agreement, stating it contains no expiration date.

According to Trump, the agreement ensures the United States maintains the authority to implement measures deemed necessary to defend both Greenland and the United States. The terms reportedly prohibit U.S. adversaries from establishing military bases or making sensitive investments in Greenland without explicit written approval from Washington.

Trump stated that the agreement addresses U.S. security concerns without imposing additional costs on the United States. He further announced that the U.S. would begin the process of developing a military presence in the region, noting that the government intends to work with the people of Greenland during the construction and development phases.

Describing the deal as a positive outcome for the United States, Denmark, and Greenland, Trump claimed the agreement permanently and conclusively addresses the strategic importance of the territory. He emphasized that the pact prevents other nations from gaining a foothold in the region, asserting that the United States will remain protective of the area.
