Aaron Grappie, a former murder accused, has survived a third violent attack in two years. The incident occurred overnight on Friday, April 10, 2026, in New Grant, Princes Town, but details remain scarce. Investigators are withholding information about Grappie’s condition as the probe unfolds.
Grappie’s history with violence dates back to June 29, 2024. He was shot for the first time while standing in his yard, and despite serious injuries, managed to escape. The second attempt on his life happened on January 10, 2026, in St Mary’s Village, Moruga, where he was visiting a friend. On both occasions, Grappie was hospitalised but survived.
Grappie’s past is marred with controversy. He was among five men convicted in the 2005 kidnapping and murder of businesswoman Samdaye Rampersad. The group spent nearly 17 years in prison before being released in June 2022.
Since their release, several group members have met violent ends. One was killed by police, and two others were gunned down in separate incidents. The motive behind these attacks remains unclear, and it’s unknown if they are related to their past criminal activities.
Investigations into the latest shooting are still ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
