In a recent development, Gabriel Harrigin, a Trinidadian national, was detained by immigration authorities in Guyana and is currently slated for deportation. This sudden turn of events occurred Tuesday morning when Harrigin, who had just been cleared of cybercrime allegations, was asked to report to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Upon arrival, he was met by immigration officials rather than CID. The reason for his deportation remains unclear, with speculation that he may have overstayed his permitted time in Guyana. Harrigin had been seeking local employment during his stay. His detention follows a recent arrest related to allegations of sharing intimate photos and videos online without the consent of the individuals involved. As of now, neither immigration nor police authorities have released an official statement regarding the incident.
