Trinidad Woman Swept Away and Dies After Car Crashes Into Jamaican River

A tragic accident in St. Mary, Jamaica has claimed the life of Shirnell Maxine Ettienne, a 31-year-old woman from Trinidad and Tobago. The fatal incident occurred when the vehicle she was traveling in veered off course and plunged into the Wag Water River.

According to the local police, all occupants of the vehicle initially managed to escape after the crash. However, Ettienne was overwhelmed by the strong current as she attempted to reach safety. Her body was later recovered from the river.

Emergency services promptly transported Ettienne to the hospital, but she was pronounced dead upon arrival. The other occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries, although they were treated and are expected to recover.

This incident highlights the dangers posed by rapidly flowing water bodies, especially during vehicular accidents. Ettienne’s untimely death has sent shockwaves through her community, leaving many in mourning over the loss of a vibrant young life.
