The Trinidad & Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is mourning the loss of one of its long-serving and dedicated officers. Officer Andre Bucchan, who enlisted in the TTPS in August 1997, tragically passed away in a road traffic accident on the Churchill–Roosevelt Highway on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
Starting his career in the Western Division, Officer Bucchan displayed a sense of duty and versatility that saw him serve in various units. These include the Traffic and Highway Patrol, the Transport and Telecom Unit, and the Northern Division. His commitment to the service was recognized in August 2010, when he received a commendation for his devotion to duty.
Officer Bucchan’s untimely death has left a void in the TTPS that will be hard to fill. His commitment to his duty and his passion for serving the community will always be remembered. He leaves behind his wife, son, and daughter to mourn his loss.
The Commissioner and the Executive of the TTPS extend their deepest condolences to Officer Bucchan’s family during this difficult time. His service to the community will not be forgotten. Rest well, officer.
