Trinidad and Tobago Rattled by 3.9 Magnitude Earthquake

At 12:32 pm local time on August 31, 2025, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 was automatically located by the UWI, SRC. The earthquake’s epicenter was at a depth of 10 kilometers with coordinates 10.27N latitude and 61.95W longitude. Cities proximate to the quake include San Fernando, Port of Spain, and Arima in Trinidad and Tobago, at distances of 54 km, 65 km, and 85 km respectively. This preliminary location was computed by automated algorithms, and is subject to potential revisions after further analysis by SRC analysts.
