In a bid to enhance national disaster readiness, the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government of Trinidad and Tobago has engaged in productive discussions with His Excellency Dr. Akima Umezawa, the Ambassador of Japan. The Honourable Khadijah Ameen, along with senior officials, explored opportunities for deeper cooperation in climate resilience. The discussions centered around strengthening disaster management systems through targeted support and sustained partnership with Japan.
