Trinidad and Tobago Launches Online Arrival and Departure Card System
Travelers entering or leaving Trinidad and Tobago will soon be required to complete a digital arrival and departure form as part of a new border modernization initiative.
The Ministry of Homeland Security announced the launch of the Trinidad and Tobago Online Arrival and Departure Card Platform, which will replace the traditional paper-based immigration forms.
According to the ministry, the system will be fully implemented on March 17, 2026, at which point paper arrival and departure cards will no longer be used.
However, beginning March 14, 2026, travelers will be able to access the online platform and complete their required information before traveling.
The new digital system is designed to make the border crossing process faster, more efficient, and more secure for both arriving and departing passengers.
Under the new process, travelers will complete the form online and upload the biodata page of their passport. After submission, they will receive a digital receipt containing a QR code, which must be presented to Immigration and Customs officers upon arrival or departure.
Officials say the platform forms part of broader efforts by the Government to modernize Trinidad and Tobago’s border management systems and align with international digital travel standards.
The Ministry of Homeland Security said it has been working closely with the Immigration Division, the Customs and Excise Division, airlines, maritime stakeholders, and regional partners to ensure a smooth rollout.
Travelers are being encouraged to visit www.travel.gov.tt� to familiarize themselves with the system before traveling.
Speaking on the initiative, officials described the move away from paper forms as a necessary step toward modernization.
They noted that paper-based arrival cards were part of an earlier era and that digital systems now represent the global standard for travel processing.
Authorities also indicated that the platform will continue to evolve, with improvements expected as feedback is received from travelers and stakeholders.
The new digital arrival and departure card system marks another step in Trinidad and Tobago’s transition toward more technology-driven border management and travel services.
