Trinidad and Tobago Face Yellow-Level Weather Alert

An Adverse Weather Alert, Yellow Level, is in force for Trinidad and Tobago, effective from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2025. The Meteorological Service warns of a high likelihood of intense showers and thunderstorms, primarily in the morning and early afternoon. While the thunderstorm activity is anticipated to largely affect offshore areas east of the islands, impactful weather could still hit land. There’s an elevated risk of street and flash flooding due to the high atmospheric moisture, and further rainfall on already waterlogged ground could trigger landslides or landslips. Gusty winds may also be experienced close to heavy showers. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding or in the hills are encouraged to remain vigilant, exercise prudence, and keep up with official weather updates at www.metoffice.gov.tt.
