Trinidad and Tobago officials have alleged that the country was deliberately excluded from the process to reappoint the CARICOM Secretary General. The Foreign Affairs Minister stated that both the Prime Minister and designated representatives were effectively barred from participating, raising concerns about a breach of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas. The government is now pushing for the matter to be revisited at the highest level, including the possibility of fresh elections.
