A 27-year-old Trinibad artiste has been detained under a Preventive Detention Order (PDO), following an operation authorized by the Ministry of National Security.
The artiste, identified as Joseph Ollivierre, known in the music industry as “Medz Boss,” was taken into custody after authorities issued the order, which allows for detention on the basis of national-security concerns.
Ollivierre, who resides in Beetham Gardens, Port of Spain, has risen to prominence in recent years with several popular tracks. However, his name has also surfaced in multiple police investigations. He was previously charged in 2024 in connection with gang-related activity, and in October 2025 he was arrested for allegedly robbing an individual of a gold chain at the Port of Spain Ferry Terminal.
The PDO was reportedly signed by the Minister of National Security, Hon. Roger Alexander.
Officials say the situation remains fluid and investigations are ongoing. Further updates will be shared as more details become available.
