Trini Russian Girl Kristina prepares a new Tobago-inspired business venture featuring marine-themed beach towels.

‘Trini Russian Girl’ Turns Her Love for Tobago into New Business Venture

Kristina, known as the “Trini Russian Girl,” is preparing to launch a Tobago-inspired vacation collection celebrating the island’s natural beauty and marine life.

TOBAGO — Kristina, known to many as the “Trini Russian Girl,” is taking her appreciation for Trinidad and Tobago in a new direction, with plans to launch a collection of vacation-inspired merchandise under her brand, Sweet Sweet Paw Paw.

The entrepreneur has announced that her upcoming Tobago Vacation Collection is progressing, with an anticipated launch between November 16 and 19, 2026, subject to the completion of her business registration.

In her first weekly business update, Kristina revealed that she had completed artwork featuring one of Tobago’s popular tourism attractions, the glass-bottom boat, and had begun developing another design highlighting the island’s underwater marine life.

The collection is expected to include beach towels featuring Tobago-inspired artwork, combining tropical imagery with practical vacation accessories.

Turning Caribbean Inspiration into Entrepreneurship

Kristina’s latest venture represents an effort to transform her connection with Trinidad and Tobago into a commercial brand.

For those familiar with her as the Trini Russian Girl, the project introduces another dimension to her public identity, shifting the focus from cultural appreciation to entrepreneurship.

Her choice of Tobago as the inspiration for her collection also draws attention to the island’s tourism appeal, particularly its beaches, marine environment and recreational attractions.

However, bringing the products to market has not been without challenges.

Kristina disclosed that her print-on-demand provider, Printful, recently increased its beach towel prices by more than 23 per cent, forcing her to reconsider production arrangements.

Rather than immediately passing the additional costs on to customers, she indicated that she intends to explore alternative providers in an effort to maintain a reasonable balance between product quality and affordability.

The development illustrates some of the financial and logistical challenges facing small entrepreneurs who depend on international manufacturing and print-on-demand services.

A Tobago-Inspired Collection with International Potential

The venture also raises interesting possibilities for the international promotion of Tobago’s identity through lifestyle merchandise.

Products featuring the island’s marine environment could appeal to visitors, members of the Caribbean diaspora and consumers attracted to tropical designs.

Whether the business will eventually involve Tobago-based artists, suppliers or other local stakeholders remains to be seen.

For now, Kristina is concentrating on completing her designs, addressing production costs and finalising the requirements necessary to bring the collection to market.

She has promised to keep supporters informed about developments as the proposed launch approaches.

In closing her first newsletter, Kristina thanked those supporting her entrepreneurial journey and extended warm wishes to her followers.

While Sweet Sweet Paw Paw is still in its early stages, the project reflects an ambition to develop a business around the beauty and cultural appeal of Trinidad and Tobago.

For the Trini Russian Girl, the next chapter could be about more than celebrating Caribbean culture — it could also be about building a brand inspired by it.

The Tobago Vacation Collection is tentatively scheduled for launch between November 16 and 19, 2026.
