Trincity Mall has clarified that a video circulating on social media showing young men riding bicycles through the shopping centre is not recent, but dates back to 2025.
In an official statement issued on September 17, 2026, mall management said it became aware of the video after it was uploaded to social media on September 16.
Following a review of security footage and incident reports, management confirmed that the incident actually occurred in 2025.
The mall stressed that riding bicycles inside the facility is strictly against its policies.
According to management, security personnel intervened immediately during the incident and instructed the individuals involved to leave the premises. The matter was also handled in conjunction with the relevant authorities.
The clarification comes as the resurfaced video attracted attention online, with viewers potentially believing the incident had occurred recently.
Trincity Mall said the safety of shoppers, tenants and staff remains a priority, adding that security personnel continue to actively monitor both the interior of the mall and its car park areas.
Management thanked members of the public for bringing the circulating video to its attention and sharing their concerns.
The mall also assured the public that disruptions affecting the shopping experience are addressed swiftly and taken seriously.
