In a tragic incident, a 51-year-old taxi driver from Barrackpore named Kin Khan took his own life on July 10th, 2025, shortly after sending a distressing voice message to his sister. Khan, who resided at 34 Cottage Road, St. John Village, was found dead in his home around noon. In his voice note, he expressed overwhelming feelings of depression and hinted at his intent to end his life. Concerned for her brother’s wellbeing, his sister immediately contacted the Barrackpore Police Station and rushed to his residence with relatives. Upon their arrival, police officers entered the home and discovered Khan deceased, lying on a bed with a gunshot wound to the right side of his head. A revolver was found in his right hand. Law enforcement confirmed that Khan did not possess a Firearm User’s License or a Firearm User’s Employee Certificate. Crime Scene Investigators collected several pieces of evidence, including a black metal object resembling a revolver, five rounds of .38 SPL ammunition, one spent shell casing, and a silver projectile, along with a black Samsung cellphone. The Homicide Bureau, led by Cpl Julamsingh, is continuing its investigation into this heartbreaking case.
