A traffic warden was injured during a reckless drive-off incident at Piarco International Airport on July 8, 2025. The incident unfolded when the warden was issuing a parking citation to a motorist who had violated airport traffic regulations. As the officer began to document the ticket, the driver unexpectedly accelerated, hitting the warden. Emergency medical personnel treated the officer at the scene before transporting them to the Arima Health Facility, where they are reported to be in stable condition, though the full extent of the injuries is still unknown.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) and Airports Authority security responded quickly, intercepting the suspect vehicle at the Piarco roundabout. Investigations are ongoing.
