The Tobago People’s Party (TPP) has dominated the 2026 Tobago House of Assembly elections, securing an unprecedented victory. The party, led by Farley Augustine, achieved a clean sweep in all 15 electoral districts, leaving no room for opposition. The victory is a testament to the public’s trust in Augustine’s leadership and the direction of his administration. Celebrations erupted across the island as the results were announced, with supporters viewing the win as a mandate for continued development, stronger governance, and greater autonomy for Tobago. Augustine expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and vowed to prioritize economic growth, youth development, infrastructure improvement, and strengthening Tobago’s national voice. Political analysts credit the TPP’s successful term, including its efforts in tourism recovery and modernising the economy, for the sweeping win. As the TPP holds complete control over the Tobago House of Assembly, expectations are high for the promises made during the campaign to be fulfilled.
