Tourist fatally stabbed in Castara
Tobago police are conducting a search for a Jamaican man who they believe may be connected to the stabbing death of a tourist whose body was discovered in the bushy area of Castara on Wednesday.
The victim, identified only as a Caucasian male visitor, was found lying face-down near a banana tree. He was wearing a blue T-shirt and black shorts. Short videos circulating on social media show the man motionless on the ground, while people in the background comment, “He dead like dog dey,” and another person cautions others to stay clear of a pool of blood nearby.
Officers have since launched a manhunt for the Jamaican national.
This incident is Tobago’s ninth homicide for the year and occurred just one day after the island recorded its eighth.
