Togo Opposition Groups Demand Answers Over Foreign Military Presence

Four Togolese opposition organizations — the DMK-Originale, the DMP, the LDP, and the Front ‘Touche Pas à Ma Constitution’ — have jointly expressed deep concern over what they describe as the presence of foreign military forces on Togolese soil. In a statement released Tuesday, the groups demand that the government provide full transparency on the matter and open a public debate. The opposition warns that the lack of clarity risks undermining national sovereignty and public confidence. The call comes amid heightened political tension in the country, with critics accusing the administration of secrecy on security arrangements.
