On April 18, 2026, the Tobago Divisional Task Force executed a successful operation dubbed ‘Steady Guard,’ targeting narcotics across various districts. The coordinated efforts, which spanned from 9:30 a.m. to 7:10 p.m., were focused in the Scarborough, Shirvan Road, and Crown Point areas.
During the operation, officers conducted searches and made significant drug seizures. In one notable instance, a male suspect was apprehended on New Road in Buccoo, where authorities found him in possession of 0.7 grammes of cocaine. Another suspect was arrested in the Shirvan Road district with 157 grammes of cannabis.
In a separate incident at a residence on Roach Trace in Mt. Pleasant, officers discovered a female occupant attempting to flush a bag of cocaine down the toilet. Officers intervened in time to recover approximately 120 grammes of the narcotic.
The Tobago Divisional Task Force continues to investigate these incidents, working to dismantle drug trafficking activities in the region. The operation highlights the ongoing commitment of local law enforcement to combat drug-related crimes in Tobago.
