Tobago House Chief Pledges Inclusivity after Historic Win

Farley Augustine, the Chief Secretary of Tobago House of Assembly (THA), has vowed to lead an inclusive administration serving all Tobagonians, irrespective of their political backgrounds. He made the statement following the historic landslide victory of the Tobago People’s Party (TPP) in the THA elections, which saw the party secure all 15 seats. Despite this overwhelming victory, Augustine acknowledged that many Tobagonians did not vote for the TPP and pledged to serve everyone. In his victory speech, he also highlighted the party’s commitment to democratic principles and revealed that the first order of business for the new administration would be to advance Tobago’s autonomy agenda. The THA elections for the first time in history did not result in any Opposition or minority leader, as the People’s National Movement failed to win any electoral districts.
