Three men were injured in a shooting at Chatham Junction on Wednesday evening, leaving one of them fighting for his life.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 7:50 p.m. while the victims were liming beneath a concrete foundation in the area. Gunmen opened fire, striking all three men before fleeing the scene.
A 42-year-old man suffered the most serious injuries, with gunshot wounds to his right abdomen, lower back and buttocks. He was rushed to the Point Fortin Hospital, where he remains in the resuscitation area and is being prepared for emergency surgery. His condition is listed as critical.
A second victim, aged 41, was shot in the left hand and is currently undergoing X-rays and further medical evaluation. The third man, 35, sustained a gunshot wound to his left foot and is reported to be in stable condition.
All three were transported to the hospital in a white Nissan Tiida.
Crime Scene Investigators processed the area and recovered 12 spent 9mm shells. Police have not yet identified a motive for the attack, and investigations remain ongoing.
