Severe Flooding Hits Freetown, Resulting in Loss of Life and Displacement

A severe flooding incident has occurred in Freetown, Sierra Leone, resulting in the loss of three lives and displacing hundreds of people. According to local authorities, the flooding was caused by heavy rains that lasted for hours on Monday.

The incident resulted in the deaths of a five-year-old girl, her mother, and grandmother, who lost their lives when a wall collapsed at Metchem. In the nearby area of Juba, approximately 9.2 kilometers from central Freetown, over 300 homes were completely flooded.

The flooding has caused significant disruption to the lives of residents in the affected areas, with many people displaced from their homes. The full extent of the damage and displacement is still being assessed.
