An anti-crime operation in the Northern North Division, particularly in the Arima District, resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of two firearms. The operation took place between 6:45 PM on July 7, 2025, and 3:00 AM on July 8, 2025, following intelligence reports suggesting that suspects Samuel Snaggs, Javan Alexander, and others were planning retaliatory violence after a homicide on July 5, 2025, in Olton Road, Arima. Officers from the GEB and IATF acted on this information around 7 PM, observing two vehicles speeding along Tumpuna Road. Upon stopping the Nissan Tiida, officers found Snaggs in the backseat with a bag containing a submachine gun. Driver Javan Alexander, who failed to comply with police orders, was forcibly removed from the vehicle, which then collided with a police car. A bag found on Alexander contained another firearm. Both suspects were arrested for possession of firearms and ammunition. A third suspect, Nickail Perryman, was also arrested at the scene. The operation, authorized by DCP I&I Ms. Martin, involved multiple officers and units, emphasizing a coordinated response to crime in the area.
