The United Arab Emirates has formally requested that the United Nations Security Council expand the existing arms embargo to encompass the entirety of Sudan. The call, issued on Saturday, seeks to broaden the scope of current restrictions to address the ongoing conflict in the region.
The UAE government stated that the expansion of the embargo is necessary to stabilize the situation and mitigate the impact of the ongoing hostilities. The proposal aims to apply these measures across all Sudanese territories.
