The three North Bay imports are part of a Barrie Storm team that has its sights set on being the title holders of Eastern Canada

Three North Bay Natives to Represent Ontario at Eastern Canadian Softball Championship

Hailey Maxwell, Brooklyn James, and Olivia Busch, three local softball players from North Bay, will represent Ontario at the Eastern Canadian Softball Championship. The trio is part of the Barrie Storm U15 Tier 2 rep softball program, which has set its sights on becoming the title holders of Eastern Canada.

The three players earned spots on the Barrie Storm rep team after a standout season, during which they captured gold medals at multiple tournaments and finished first at their qualifying tournament. The team also placed second at the provincial championship, securing their place to represent Ontario at the Eastern Canadian level.

Maxwell, James, and Busch developed their skills through the North Bay Minor Girls Softball Association and the North Bay Blaze Select team. Their dedication, sportsmanship, and positive attitudes have helped them elevate their game to this new level of competition. The trio has won numerous gold medals and is well-known on the softball circuit, often recognized as “the North Bay girls” at camps and tournaments across the province.

The Barrie Storm team, including Maxwell, James, and Busch, will travel to Chaudière-Appalaches, Québec, on August 19 to compete against teams from Prince Edward Island, Québec, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick in their opening games.
