Empresa Portuaria Quetzal (EPQ) has begun a formal invitation process to select a new operator for the container terminal at Puerto Quetzal, following the expiration of its temporary agreement with APM Terminals Quetzal on September 1.
The tender will seek specialized companies capable of managing the terminal through lease and maritime service contracts. EPQ aims to ensure continuity of operations and maintain the terminal’s role as a key logistics hub in the region.
APM Terminals has expressed interest in continuing its presence at Puerto Quetzal, indicating that it may participate in the upcoming selection process.
