In a tragic incident, a 17-year-old boy, identified as Isiah Estrada from Brazil Village, Arima, drowned at the first Marianne River Gorge in Brasso Seco. The unfortunate event took place on Sunday, June 28, while Estrada was enjoying a bath with a friend. He disappeared beneath the water and failed to resurface, triggering immediate concern. The Hunters Search and Rescue Team, along with other emergency responders, promptly launched a search operation. After several painstaking hours, Estrada’s body was recovered the following day, Monday, June 29, at approximately 2:05 a.m. It was found beneath a rocky shelf around 17 feet underwater. Officers from the Blanchisseuse Police Station visited the scene and are currently conducting an investigation into the incident. Estrada, who had a twin brother, leaves behind a mourning family and a grieving community. His untimely death has sent shockwaves through the community, with many expressing their deep condolences to his family.
