Suspect Freed as Investigation Continues in Tragic Jet Ski Death of Angelica Jogie

A tragic jet ski accident at Pigeon Point beach has claimed the life of seven-year-old Angelica Jogie, prompting an outpouring of grief across the nation. The incident occurred on April 8, 2026, when a jet ski, operated by a 32-year-old man, allegedly collided with Angelica and her family. She was rushed to Scarborough General Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The suspect was arrested in the early hours of April 9 at his Canaan home, just hours after the accident. However, he has since been released as investigations continue. The police have not yet disclosed any further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the collision.

In the days following Angelica’s death, her family, friends, and community members gathered to honor her memory. The young girl was laid to rest on April 18, 2026, at her family’s home in Monkey Town, Barrackpore, where many came to pay their final respects and support the grieving family.

As the investigation remains active, authorities are working to gather more information about the incident. The tragic loss of Angelica has resonated deeply, highlighting the community’s call for safer recreational practices to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
