During the early hours of July 3rd, 2026, Operation R.E.S.O.L.U.T.E. Shield was conducted in Area North of the Central Division. Led by a team of dedicated law enforcement professionals including ACP Remy, Snr. Supt. Bhagwandeen, Supt. Glodon, ASP Hosein, ASP Hernandez, Insp. Rampersad, and Sgt Ali, the operation was a coordinated effort to uphold public safety. They were further supported by officers from the Central Division Task Force Area North.
Based on intelligence, officers proceeded to a residence at John Street, Montrose, Chaguanas around 6:00 a.m. A thorough search of the premises resulted in a significant discovery. Concealed beneath clothing inside a bedroom closet, officers found a black Glock 19 pistol fitted with a firing selector. Additionally, a Glock 19 magazine containing twelve rounds of 9 mm ammunition was found.
A male occupant of the residence was arrested in connection with the findings. He is expected to face charges of Possession of a Prohibited Firearm and Possession of Ammunition. With the suspect now in police custody, investigations are continuing to ensure the safety and security of the community.
