A brazen robbery took place early Tuesday morning at a Subway restaurant in Barataria, resulting in a loss of over $2,000. The incident occurred around 6:39 a.m. when a gunman entered the fast-food outlet on 6th Avenue, confronting three female employees. He ordered two of the workers to sit on the ground before demanding cash from the supervisor on duty. Fearing for their safety, the supervisor complied, handing over $2,010 from both the cash register and the restaurant’s vault. The assailant then calmly exited the restaurant, last seen walking west along Eastern Main Road. Law enforcement responded promptly, recording a report and interviewing the employees present. Officers have begun canvassing the area, reviewing surveillance footage, and collecting statements from nearby witnesses as investigations continue.
