State Rescues 3 Children After Shocking Social Media Beer Drinking Video

State child protection officers removed three children from their family home and transported them to a hospital for medical evaluations after a video that appeared on social media showed the children drinking beer while adults watched and laughed. The operation was carried out by the Family Support Unit of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Welfare. The ministry has formally opened an investigation to examine how the video was filmed, assess the children’s living conditions, and determine appropriate safety measures. Initial findings indicate the video was filmed recently. The family has a prior history with child welfare services; in 2025, the same household had three children removed, including an eight‑year‑old who was taken into care in February. All three children were reintegrated into the family home in December 2025 after completing a family support programme. Medical examinations are currently underway to assess the physical condition and overall health of the children. Authorities will decide on further protective custody actions once the medical results and investigative findings are finalized.
