The state-owned company eTecK has taken full ownership of Hilton International Trinidad Limited, securing the future of the Hilton Trinidad & Conference Centre for the next six months. The new entity, renamed HotelTT Asset Management Company Limited, will operate the property under the Hilton brand, with an option to extend the arrangement for another six months.
Under the agreement, the hotel will remain open while the government evaluates a long‑term strategy and initiates priority renovations. Employees—over 600 in total—will keep their jobs, duties, schedules, salaries and benefits unchanged, ensuring workforce stability.
Reservation systems and booking channels will reopen immediately, providing continuity for guests, events and other customers. The deal resolves uncertainty that had surfaced after the previous management contract expired and fears that Hilton could cease operations.
Hilton Trinidad & Conference Centre has been a prominent landmark in Port of Spain for decades and remains one of the city’s best‑known hotels. The six‑month management window gives the state time to assess operations, address renovation priorities and decide on a longer‑term strategy.
In the end, the agreement guarantees that the hotel stays open, its workforce remains secure, and the internationally recognised Hilton brand continues to serve the community.
