Grimes responded with a video where he displayed his academic credentials. These include Grade One passes in both English and Mathematics, a degree in Spanish, and a Grade Two in Social Studies. He insisted, ‘All this paper says is my qualifications,’ emphasizing that he was ‘more than qualified.’
The controversy took a new twist when allegations surfaced that social media influencers were among hundreds hired at WASA in the months following the election. This revelation has sparked a national debate on hiring practices, qualifications, and the role of public relations and digital media personnel within state agencies.
The entertainer’s comments have since generated strong reactions online. While some supporters defend his qualifications, others continue to question appointments connected to the controversy.
