Stabbing Shocks Barataria Community

In a shocking incident in Barataria, a 32-year-old MTS security officer is currently hospitalized after being stabbed twice during an argument with a female co-worker and her husband. The violence erupted on the evening of August 26, 2025, around 7:30 p.m., as the victim was walking near an auto mechanic shop on Upper 9th Avenue. The assailant, a 53-year-old woman employed as an MTS Estate Corporal from Laventille, confronted the victim alongside her husband. The argument escalated quickly, leading the woman to pull a black knife from her pocket and inflict two stab wounds to the victim’s chest and back. He was subsequently transported to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in stable condition and is receiving thoracic palliative care. Law enforcement, including the Morvant CID and the NED Task Force, arrived promptly at the scene to investigate the incident and gather details.
