On June 14th, 2026, an intelligence-led operation in the Northern Division resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old St. Augustine man and the seizure of substantial quantities of cannabis and ammunition. The operation, conducted between 10am and 5pm, led officers to the suspect’s home where they discovered 2.75 kilogrammes of cannabis hidden in a mini-mart on his property.
In tandem, officers conducted a second operation in the Cunipia district, unearthing 30 rounds of 5.56 ammunition concealed in a chicken coup on Cemetery Street.
These operations were overseen by senior officials, including Snr. Supt. Bhagwandeen and Supt. Glodon, with the support of the Central Operations Unit, the Central Division Task Force, Area North, the Canine Branch and the Special Investigations Unit.
Meanwhile, in the Eastern Division, a separate incident resulted in the arrest of a Valencia man. Following a report of Wounding with Intent, the individual was taken into custody after allegedly attacking another man with two cutlasses, causing several injuries.
As of now, investigations continue into both matters, as law enforcement works tirelessly to maintain public safety and order.
