Solidarity in Action: Oscar Camps and Iberian Activists Arrive in Havana on the Astral

Óscar Camps, the Spanish activist known for his humanitarian work with the NGO Open Arms, arrived in Havana on Monday aboard the sailboat Astral. He was joined by a delegation of activists from Iberia as part of the ‘Rumbo a Cuba’ solidarity initiative.

The initiative brings together more than 150 social, union, and political organizations from Spain and Portugal. The group’s arrival at the Havana harbor was marked by a warm welcome from local supporters.

Camps and his fellow travelers aim to express solidarity with the Cuban people and highlight the importance of international cooperation. The voyage is a symbolic gesture of support for Cuba amid its ongoing economic difficulties.

This is not the first such initiative led by Camps, who has been involved in several humanitarian missions in the Mediterranean. The ‘Rumbo a Cuba’ project underscores the enduring ties between Iberian civil society and Cuba.
